Protecta Board XTRA

The right protection is crucial when safeguarding timber floors during construction or renovation projects. Each type of timber floor demands specific solutions to keep it pristine throughout the project.

The ENEX 100 project involved major refurbishments in a busy public area, requiring careful work zone segregation, robust floor protection, and minimal disruptions. Robust floor protection was essential for heavy equipment like scissor lifts on finished surfaces, including stone tiles and polished timber, all while avoiding disruption to the outside area.

With the tight deadline, Valmont needed to minimise any disruptions to neighbouring live office operations, which required separating the work site to contain noise and dust. Additionally, the client needed to protect the floor during the removal of the staircase and from scaffolding and potential debris. The limited storage space on site meant that deliveries needed to be carefully planned to supply necessary protection and temporary walling materials to the site when required to keep the project on track.

Protecta Board XTRA has just passed an important fire safety test with flying colours. Protecta Board XTRA 5mm received an impressive rating of CHF 5.3 kW/m² and Protecta Board XTRA 3mm achieved 5.7kW/m². This means Protecta Board XTRA is safe to use in a wider range of buildings. 

The Riverwalk connecting with Eagle Street Pier needed to be temporarily closed during demolition activities for safety reasons. Given the importance of reopening the Riverwalk, it was paramount to protect the existing structure from demolition works, creating a need for protection that could be quickly and easily applied and reused as required.
