9in6 Builders have worked with Protecta for nearly ten years, and this season they’ve had us on site at The Block. We asked Aidan O’Shannessy what protection looks like from the builder’s side of one of Australia’s toughest sites. Watch the full interview below.
How did 9in6 and Protecta start working together?
“We’ve worked with Protecta the whole time we’ve existed, nearly ten years now. We started on some hospital refurb work with another builder, and ZipWall was our first go at using Protecta products. Protecta’s products and the way they operate as a business really match the way we do.”
What has Protecta’s support looked like this season?
“Dave and Mark have been on site so often. On The Block, it’s really difficult to remember every little thing, so having partners who remind a contestant to cover their floor, or make sure we’ve got stock for next week, is crucial. The responsiveness has been fantastic. We’ve got to be careful, because now we’ll expect it on every job.”
What’s changed on site this year?
“There’s been a lot more use of ZipWall® to keep presented rooms clean and dust-free while there’s a massive construction effort happening right next to them. That’s really helped.”
Do you have a favourite product?
“Protecta Site Mat XTRA. It keeps dirt out of houses and site offices, and it’s a great OH&S tool. It marks out walkways and creates clear paths of travel, and our WorkSafe regulator loves it too. We also used Protecta Board XTRA on our roofs under scaffold, which we hadn’t done before, and it worked really well.”
