Key Outcomes

  • FastWall’s lightweight design enabled quick assembly and disassembly
  • Carpet was protected throughout the three-month project
  • FastWall versatility made it adaptable for multiple uses

Background

Situated on Melbourne’s CBD riverfront, 637 Flinders Street is a premier office tower known for its vibrant workspace and professional appeal. JDV Projects undertook a fit-out to boost the building's commercial appeal to potential new clients.

Challenge

The project presented two distinct challenges:
1. Carpet Protection: Safeguard the original carpet tiles from construction wear and tear during a three month project.

2. Temporary Site Amenities: Construct a lightweight, reusable, and easy-to-clean temporary lunchroom. The hoarding system needed to be portable for future use across multiple sites.

Solution

To meet the project’s three month duration, Protecta Weave was selected as a more long-term carpet protection solution. Its durability and tear resistance ensured the carpets were shielded from heavy construction and foot traffic.

For the lunchroom, the FastWall Floor to Ceiling Hoarding System was the perfect fit. Its tongue-and-groove design allowed for quick assembly and disassembly, while the PVC panels allowed for easy cleaning.

As an added bonus, the client used additional FastWall panels to create functional benches. The cut-to-size panels served as the bench face and supporting legs, all fastened together using FastWall Top Tracks, adding an
additional feature to their newly created lunchroom.

Final Result

Both JDV Projects and the installers praised FastWall’s lightweight design, making transport and reuse across projects seamless. This success reinforced FastWall’s reputation as the go-to hoarding system for site amenities, especially projects requiring efficiency and versatility. Additionally, Protecta Weave kept the carpet in pristine condition throughout the project.
